Selena

She was a performer, designer and a music innovator. She was a traditional and modern a Mexican-American performer who merged both worlds in a singular way--and delivered incredible Tejano music to an affluent audience. Her tragic death cut a hole in her rising profile and like many times when a glowing, charming singer dies too young, it caused many to grieve all the untapped potential. Fans have worked harder over the years in order to keep her legacy alive. The death of Selena triggered an emotional response within the Latino community that is likened with Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena was a wildly popular Latino artist throughout North America. Her music transcended boundaries and brought joy to youngsters as well as older adults. Selena may have been hailed by many as the Latina Madonna, however she's still a fantastic role model. Selena's off-stage family values as well as her involvement with AIDS awareness programs make her a good example.

Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothin But A Number was released in 1994. In the age group of 15 the album was awarded Gold recognition. It was done as an album that was heavily in the style of R.
