Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman of business. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently is the president of the organization. Buss was born in California and grew up part of a wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon and then later owned the Lakers. Her parents divorced in 1972. broke up in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally left out. When she was 19 she started working for the family's business. The team was later renamed her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She served as the head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice president for the Lakers. Buss inherited her share of the Lakers through her father's estate in the year 2013. Her five siblings inherited it through a family trust. Buss assumed the role as President for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
